Parents should speak to their pediatrician or healthcare provider about appointments for children aged 6 months or older. Most pharmacy locations only vaccinate children aged 3 years or older.

Updated COVID-19 booster dose: subvariants of the Omicron variant for individuals 6 months of age and older.
  • For individuals ages 6 months and older, an updated Pfizer booster dose can be given at least 2 months following completion of any primary series or monovalent booster.
  • For individuals ages 6 months and older, an updated Moderna booster dose can be given at least 2 months following completion of any primary series or monovalent booster.

Influenza (flu) vaccine: VDH and CDC recommend yearly flu vaccination to protect yourself and your loved ones from influenza.

  • Individuals ages 6 months and older should be vaccinated annually.
  • Individuals at high risk of severe flu complications, including young children, pregnant women, people with chronic health conditions like asthma, diabetes, or heart and lung disease, and people 65 years and older.
  • Healthcare workers and others who live with or care for people at high risk.

Talk to your healthcare provider about the flu vaccine most appropriate for your age group and vaccination recommendations for persons with a history of severe egg allergy.
